About this role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Draftsman to remotely support a Dubai-based steel contracting company. The role involves preparing submission, shop, and production drawings for structural steel projects using AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will independently prepare complete drawing packages, coordinate with engineers and site teams, maintain document control, and deliver accurate drawings on schedule.
What you'll need
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field. - Minimum 5 years of professional drafting/detailing experience, specifically in structural steel. - Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD. - Strong experience preparing structural steel shop drawings and fabrication/production drawings. - Demonstrated ability to independently prepare complete drawing packages including GA drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and material lists/BOM. - Strong understanding of welding standards, steel connections, bolted connections, and structural steel fabrication practices. - Ability to read and understand design calculations and interpret engineering and structural drawings accurately. - High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently to meet project deadlines. - Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
